About Professor Heel
I came to dog training after an exciting career as an entrepreneur, contractor, and store owner. After rescuing an abused pit-mix, I quickly realized the power and potential that love, rehabilitation, and effective training could have on dogs of all kinds and the lives of their owners. Since that day, I dedicated myself to learning my craft, expanding my skill set, and devloping new and effective approaches. As I approach my 20th year as a professional trainer, I am proud of the work I have done and the impact it has made.
I expect that my clients want to see real results that work in the real world in a realistic (immediate!) time frame...and that is what I deliver. I have extensive experience working with stressed dogs: from confiscated dogs and cruelty cases; sheltered dogs and street strays, to well-loved dogs with well-intentioned but overwhelmed owners.
I love seeing the "light bulb" moment for both owners and dogs...and feeling the palpable relief from both my two-legged and four-legged clients when they "get it"! It's not magic, it's not complex - a calm, happy life with our dogs is so readily achievable with the right knowledge and tools!
I offer customized training plans that suit the needs of dogs and owners alike, including board & train options at my home/dog training center in Oakland, CA. Imagine boarding your dog for a vacation, and coming home to a calmer, more obedient, family pet! There is no one-size-fits all approach to training, so contact me and lets discuss your unique needs and how I can help.
